The beach is partly free and partly equipped, in a natural inlet sheltered from the winds and dominated by the fortress. It is a place renowned for its excellent environmental and tourist quality, spending a few days on the most famous beach of the Maremma.
Between a dip in the open sea and a bit of healthy rest, you can reach small villages with ancient architectural jewels carefully preserved. Or visit the Diaccia Botrona Oasis, a marshy nature reserve, a bird watching paradise. It is possible to visit, inside the Oasis, Casa Ximenes or better known as the Casa Rossa, a building built in the late 1700s, to try to reclaim the area through the mechanism of the locks.
