Discover the treasures of our land
One of the best ways to discover its wonders is a guided mountain bike tour, you can rent all the equipment and be guided to discover enchanting landscapes. A visit to the ancient villages is not to miss, small jewels kept with love and respect for their millennial history. Go to Capalbio, known as the small Athens, the only medieval city that preserves intact the double walls, with the two walkways on different levels. You can visit the castle, the small Renaissance church of the Providence oratory outside the walls, or the church of San Nicola dating back to the 12th century.
These are just some of the wonders the others discover. A truly evocative place is the Abbey of San Galgano, in the municipality of Chiusdino, a fascinating example of Cistercian architecture, which has become one of a kind due to the collapse of the roof, with perfectly preserved side walls. You will live the emotion of raising your eyes to the sky in a place full of suggestions. Also worth visiting is the church of the Rotonda, where the sword of Galgano us guarded, a knight of the twelfth century who retired to these mystical places to pray. Finally you must visit the Garden of Daniel Spoerri, in the small village of Seggiano. A structured path where the sculptures of over 50 contemporary artists are exhibited in a 20-hectare garden.
